Michael Thomas, known by clients as Mikey is an award winning and sought after Chicago dog trainer. He has been in the industry for more than decade providing training and the best possible care for your dog. He is dedicated to using only positive reinforcement techniques to ensure your dog is happy and healthy.

Mikey has been working with dogs since he was 10 years old. He has fostered and successfully found homes for dozens of dogs - primarily helping build strong confidence & proper socialization to be adopted out. He always had a specialty for those dogs who needed a "bit more attention" due to aggression or high anxiety.

In his 20’s he started educating himself deeper on animal nutrition, hosting several nutrition seminars and managing multiple different pet stores in his time. It wasn’t until his mid-late 20’s when he started training dogs professionally. Owning dog training franchises and receiving various certifications well into his 30’s.

Mikey started Kindred K9 Chicago to better help pet owners build a respectful relationship with their dogs based on proper communication & trust.

"Kuma" & "Kaiba" are his two beautiful Belgian Malinois’. In his spare time, Mikey has certified his personal dogs as Therapy Dogs, as well as Personal Protection Dogs competing in high levels of advanced obedience and proper bite mechanics.

Now, Mikey continues to educate himself to better help pet owners and their beloved dogs -  Passing on all the accumulated knowledge to significantly improve our future with animals.
